Im currently running an h2b setup in a del sol. I looked into supercharging and found its not what im looking for. Now I plan on turboing it. I am already running 440cc injectors, hondata s300 with boost option, arp headstuds. But I am currently running skunk2 pro 1 valvetrain and cams. What turbo do you guys recommend? I was thinking something along the lines of a t3/t4 since I am not looking for something huge. Just something with good useable power throughout the power band.

t3/t4 turbo is about 1000 different turbos all various ranges in power output capability.

A) bigger, higher quality injectors
B) S300 already has built in boost control, it isnt an option
C) if you want your bottom end to last and make great power, dont cheap out on the turbo manifold or turbo accessories. IE: tubular manifolds (note: not tubular logs) vs. cast log manifolds. tubular manifolds will allow the engine to be more efficient with a decreased need to increase ignition timing in order to make power thus a larger window of error.
- turboing any engine is about getting a complete package, not just throwing something together and expecting the engine to like it or even make the power it should.
ALL of that and more will increase the likelihood of a stock bottom end surviving turbo. A great tune is great for the engine but there is only so much a tune will do as far as safe guarding an engine thats fighting itself due to lack of efficiency.

Tubular manifold is obviously most efficient but id like to hear your thoughts on tubular. Granted the tubular log is the middle ground between a full blown manifold and a standard cast log, it's still going to share some of the same characteristics which a log will give. Both are forced to turn 90 degrees with all other cylinders open to spent exhaust gases which doesn't make the 90 degree turn. I see it as a forced reversion which can only contaminate the following intake charge occurring during overlap.

 

Im curious about your input on tubular logs since thats most likely what ill end up with on my setup.
