Technically I guess this should be in the Audio section but I am hoping you can help. A friend of mine just bought a 93 Cx and the guy before him had rigged some speakers in the back side panel. I would imagine that the car did not come with rear speakers so he rigged this up. My question is what set up would the car come with if it had factory installed rears? Does the little panel in the middle of the side panel have a place to put the speakers. Do the speakers just hang in there with nothing behind them? Any imput is greatly appreciated....We are trying to make it look nice and obviously sound good too. Thanks

 

the only 92-95 hatchback taht came with stock rear speaker mounts was the 94-95 Si

 

i put speakers in my trunk cover, they sound real nice cauze the trunk acts like a giant box for them, they are ghetto pioneer speakers, but they sound good in the position they are in.

 

I made a Fiberglass Speaker Box that goes off the roof by the hatch it is about 8 inches wide and 24 inches long ! it holds two 6" speakers and one 6 1/2.... it is nice looking! i sold the hatch though , but i kept the box for myself if anyone is interested let me know! i can paint it if someone wants it make an offer!

That's incorrect. My friend has a 94Si and it didn't come with them. I have a 92 CX and it DID come with them. It was an option, not anything standard, much like center consoles, digital clocks, and audio consoles.

 

No rear speakers on my CX, my buddy's DX does have them though.

i think the rear came with wires already.... and as far as for the speaker brackets you can go to honda and order the speaker cover(rear) and the bracket... i guess it was an option for the hatches.. i saw a couple of dx's with that feature so its hard to give a exact answer....or you can go to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and find it...

 

My 93 Dx has them but it is a Canadian Model and they come with a lot of the things the US SI comes with, unfortunately not the VTEC.

i puit some kenwood excelon 6/9 "s in those panels they sound good and look good.. im me if you have questions

 

I just cut holes in the pop out panels where the back passangers sit. I messed up one side. I put in 6" speakers. Wish I would have put it 5 1/4" speakers.
