Icon2 Best MPG Civics Besides VX,CX,HF.

Sure this has sorta been beaten to death mainly but every1 knows the VX, CX hatchback and the HF crx are best mpg civics but besides those what would be the next few cars in line? 92-95 2 door dx and hatch, the 96-00 HF, what about the 88-91 base models or dxs? I dont hear much about any other civic besides the top 3 for mpgs, just curious thanks.

96-00 HX as well gets good mpg (~45) and you can still keep the sporty look of the Coupe.

You posted in the 92-00 Civic forum, so in this context, the answers are VX and HX.

Yet if i posted in the general forum it would get moved to either this forum or the 88-91 forum, which has happened before.

and by dpfi hatch those are the 88-91 arent they?

my dx coupe gets really good mileage. no power steering or spoilers and 16 valve non vtec d15. the difference from dx to ex and lx are negligible as far as gas mileage goes. out of dx, lx, ex, si, I would say the dx is next in line for fuel econ.

Wasn't criticizing, just providing forum specific info.

Yes. Ask those question by posting a thread in the EF Civic forum.

Alright sounds good, yea i figured DX civics would be pretty good. The base model 4 speed hatches probably are pretty high up there in mpg too.

I dont see why you have to literally set up a mental boundary where you have to act like you dont have any knowledge on a civic related subject other then what the specific forum category is intended for. Whatever makes you happy.

Better well organized forum, not all bunch together with misinformation. It makes it easy for people to search specifically for a generation.

Yes it actually makes me happy to try to keep the forums cleaned up and organized by generation/make/model/topic. If you find yourself displeased with the way these guys try to run a forum than move on. If you ever come upon a honda forum that is "ALL-IN-ONE" let me know.

Back to the topic:

The VX gets my vote. The lightest body, good gearing and has been proven to still be on everyones top choice as the mpg saver, check it out on ecomodders. The HX gets my second vote because it has a more room but is a little heavy. CVT was a failure but its because Honda did not do any real data testing, just testing behind closed doors. There new DCT should be hitting the streets sometime next yr.

ecomodder.com or fuelly.com/forums both will have exactly what you're looking for.

Ron is one of the best guys on this forum. He is being more then decent towards you. Other forum members and mods aren't as polite or patient.

I'll hint the OP on Ron, honda-tech.com isn't the only forum he has been helpful on. I recognize that sn on other forums. Stop being cocky just because this is the Internet. You still haven't linked me to a recent thread that was moved.

Tech/Misc would be were to post a generic question such as this.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/

My vote is for a 92-95 Hatch with a JDM 3 Stage D15B motor with a small turbo. Gets in the same range as the VX with power to boot.
