Hey everyone,

I got the blue top in the lude. Runs good, but I should have rebuilt it before I threw it in. Popped the cover and found sludge.

I'm just going to rebuild the whole thing. H22a4 parts work for the head but what works for this block as far as rings and bearings go? If I did have to replace a rod or a piston, what would I get?

The rods are the only difference. H23avtec uses jdm h22 pistons and any h22 rings will work. Just check which block it is. A or B

 

Hey thanks for the reply. The block says A so I'm going to go with that. What about the other bottom end stuff? All h22? And if I did want to replace the rod what rod would I use?

the block has 55mm mains so it's the same as a h22a4.
I don't think there's any aftermarket rods but you can use h22 rods with custom pistons or h23 rods with h23 pistons
