Default Bulb clip question

Hey guys I have a quick question my car currently has no headlights (I do not drive it atm) it is a 92-00 civic coupe I was looking to buy regular bulbs for it not HID's and what not but the clip where the bulb is suppose to go into has like some sort of grayish gunk in it not sure what it is. I was wondering if this was normal and if it is ok to just buy bulbs and install them without worrying my car will catch on fire lol if not where can I find new clips for my car just a question thanks in advance.

The grayish gunk is OK . it was the grease that gets old and picks up dirt. The grease is meant to protect the connectors from rusting out

I drive a 90 Accord EX and I'm looking to replace my passenger side parking light bulb, This might be a stupid question, but how do I pull the light out to go about changing the bulb? I saw a video of how to do it on a 92, and it essentially just slides out after the screw is removed. Is the 90 the same? It seems rather stubborn to me...
