NEED HELP ASAP - d15b swap in '99 ex
a friend of mine blew his original y8 motor in his '99 ex sedan & had to pick up a d15b since it was the only motor available in our area & we're having a small dilemma with the belts.
he kept the original ac comp & ps pump from the y8 so we just wanted to know if the y8 spec belts would fit the d15b crankshaft pulley.
I looked up the part numbers for both the d15b & y8 and confirmed that they are different.
This south FL summer is really kicking off hard this year and having no AC or PS is not fun lol... it is 96 degrees and extremely humid today.
Any input is appreciated, thanks guys.

There are a bunch of different D15B engines. Which one is this?
And to answer your question, yes it fits (assuming you are using the good D15B engine...I am unsure of the other ones but I think it fits them all)

You might have to sit in the parking lot because you'll be going back and forth to the shop to test belts. Do you know what yr that d15b came from? Have you compared both cranks to see what the differences are?
If you have the "good one" as I mentioned above (which is, of course, the OBD1 92-95 JDM D15B VTEC) then read this thread:

^^ Lots of great information.

Because there's probably no sure fire way to determine what the engine came from so telling him to get so and so belt might end up being the wrong belt, so instead going back and forth to the auto store just be prepared to sit in the lot for a bit. It doesn't take long to tighten belts.
