Default 02 Accord V6 Trans Fluid

I have an 02 V6 Accord that's leaking a little ATF. I'm aware that this can be bad news in the future, but im not getting any slip or hard shifting yet. Someone who owned the car before me put a random dipstick in it so I'm sure it's not accurate. I was hoping someone could check theirs and tell me how much of the dipstick should be dry. Seems like the best way to check it, at least until I can order the right dipstick.

get a dipstick form a junkyard. where is the trans leaking from? generally its a closed system except for the hoses that connect to the radiator and the drain plug/dipstick hole

I live in the middle of nowhere or I would have already got one. I'm gonna order one soon though. It's leaking from the axle seal I believe. It's a common problem in 6th gen's.

Not sure how someone else's dipstick reading would tell you anything. If I said 3/4 of an inch that would be based on the length of that dipstick and wouldn't relate to a different one.

the trans dipstick is very short. just fix the leak and try not to overfill the trans

Oh For ***** Sake...

He just needs someone with a 98-02 V6 Accord to give him some dimensions of their transmission dipstick, where the steps are and where the hash or full marks are. Just so he can verify that he has the correct amount of fluid in his.

lol MAD_MIKE has the right idea. I know mine's not the same length so measuring from the end of the stick wouldn't work. I'm talking about measuring the dry part of the stick. I could compare that with mine. Prolly just gonna order one from Bernardi Parts when I get it back on the road. Got some work to do on it for now...****** deer

Road kill - did you at least get the deer?

Just as a side note, that is some pretty good damage. The only thing that "might" save that car is the fact it looks like the air bags did not "blow".

Core support is going to have to be replaced (along with a ton of other things). Not sure who is doing the work or paying for that but if I had to guess that is a good 3~4K
