Default 1998 accord lx cooling fans

fans will not come on no matter how loud I yell at them. replacing radiator. just put in new used motor. old motor had an oil water mix problem. car is a manual. do not want to replace motor again so soon. is the cooling temp sensor located in a spot that it is easily broken? believe I broke the old one taking the motor out and broke the new one putting the motor in...

The radiator fan switch is located on the thermostat housing (thermostat housing is connected to lower radiator hose).

Unplug the electrical connector for the radiator fan switch, use a wire or small paper clip and jumper the connector on the harness side. Turn the ignition on, does both cooling fans run? If both fans runs, this would rule out the relays (A/C condenser fan relay and condenser fan relay) or fan motors as the issue; and may be due to the radiator fan switch. Both fans should run strongly.

instead of jumpering things, just turn on the AC with the engine off. This rules out fans themselves. If its warmed up and no fan check coolant levels as well as air in the system. You can also swap around relays.

You can turn on the A/C to see if both fans run; however, if the A/C is not functionally properly, the fans may not run.

Hi,

We carry both the cooling temperature sensor and the fan switch for your
Honda. Here is the link to our website so you can select your vehicle and
see your parts options:

AutohausAZ - Vehicle application

In the worst case scenario if you need the fans we have them as well.

Disclaimer: Make sure to check the year and model of the vehicle before
placing an order.
