I sold my civic a year ago, 96 hatch back, thinking i would get out of the scene. I recently got the itch back. Im looking to buy a 8th gen si, but I would like to get everyone's opinion on this generation of civics and the different years as well. any different info will be helpful, thanks

 

Buy anything between 08 and 11, anything before that was subject to recalls and after that was a redesigned engine and body that turned a lot of people off the marque

 

08 has a different front bumper then the 09-11... but like 97emsedan look for 08-11.

 

Ok cool, I also keep hearing about the 3rd gear issue with the 08, from what I have gathered is that it's not that big of a deal, I just need to take it to a dealership

 

06-07 had the issue with the 3rd gear but it got corrected by Hinda with a recall! They fixed the issue completely on the 08!

I have an 08 I should know lol

Mine is a daily driver with a track setup... not ideal but it's the way I like it!

Don't be shy to ask any questions in there... I'm pretty sure I have some of them covered lol

 

I would go with a 2008 model. You cant go wrong with that.

 

08 or 09 or 10 or 11 all are good!
