Default buddy club fitment?

buddy club spec 2 exhaust on a 98 civic hatch.

just wondering if anyone knows if the exhaust flange is a 2 bolt or 3 bolt on this and if anyone has removed the resonator? if so did you weld in a new piece of steel or just use a delete pipe?

Im wondering the same because I want a hybrid racing header for my k20 swap. it has a 2 bolt flange rather than three to bolt on to the stock exhaust system

I would not remove the resonator on that exhaust... why even run an exhaust at that point? You'll make more power open header, and the noise will be negligible.

The Spec II is the loudest Honda exhaust I've ever heard, and it's only 60mm.

A 70mm will make more power... I've never understood the fascination with this exhaust.

Cliffs: it's too loud already, and there's better performing exhausts. There is no legitimate reason to remove the resonator from the Spec II.

exhaust flow, i cannot run open headers on my track.
i was more curious if anyone has removed the res.

and idea to the 96-98 application on what kind of flange comes on then system, 2bolt or 3 bolt?

how do you figure a 70 mm would make more power based on a 60 mm vs 70mm? piping size is not the only factor in exhaust performance.

Well, 60mm would more restrict the exhaust flow...

well yea, but a 70 mm with a cat and res sitting on a 4-2-1 vs a 60mm with no cat and possibly no res sitting on a 4-1.

btw just o leave this thread a lil more complete. i saw and bought a system and it has a 3 bolt flange, and is short so it wants to bolt up to a stock cat, so a test pipe or custom work is needed.

i found blox or blackwords to work great as it clocks(swivels the 2 bolt and 3 bolt flanges to adapt to any position and is length adjustable)
