I have a CEL for the o2 Sensor downstream. Noticed the previous owner hacked up the wiring harness and put on a completely different o2 sensor.. I dont understand why but anyways! -
Can someone assist with the below pics? I bought the correct o2 sensor and an extension so I had room to work with since I had to cut off a good amount of the wreckage.
This is a pic of the pre-cat o2 sensor wiring to get an idea of how it all connects -
Here is the wiring under the car for the o2 sensor (harness side) -
Here is the extension kit's harness and wiring colors -
It looks like the following match each other
Old Wiring - New Wiring
Green to Black
Orange to Yellow
Red to Red
Yellow to White
Is this accurate?? I'll be Crimping them together and electrical taping everything separately and then wrapping them all together.
The replacement sensor you got is not the OEM part. Your replacement looks like it has grey, black, white, white. The white wires would match the OEM blk wires; grey would match OEM green wire; and one blk would match OEM one white wire.
I just realized the wires don't entirely match from up stream to down stream. Or the harness was hacked up higher than I thought. This is quite frustrating. I am trying to make sense of it all, I'll be in touch!
By the way, the o2 sensor I bought was when I had thought it was a simple swap. Not this crazy hacked nonsense lol
just wanted to add some visual-aid to this post; I have dislexia, plus I'm a visual learner; took me forever to research (searching google images, buying service repair manual to find wiring diagrams and pinouts, etc) before finally being able to grasp the idea
