Default Car "stalling" @ 6700 rpm's...

Okay i was just driving to work, about an hour ago, when on the highway the car would not go over 6800 rpm's. When i was pushing it the car acted like it was not getting enough fuel, like it was gonna die. Now i just did a tranny swap, putting an SI one with the ECU. The old HF tranny and ecu would go up to 8000 rpm easy.
So does anyone know what could the problem be?
I haven't checked for any codes the ecu might be throwing since i'm at work, but maybe tonite i'll check, has this happened to anyone here?

Help...

the SI ecu probably has fuel cut-off there since the d16a6 had a redline of 6500.

Should i then put the hf ecu back on, or will the fuel map be too different, or not so good. the car pulls really nice, but the 6800 cut off kind of sucks!
Will the hf ecu work? i have it so swaping it real quick won't be a problem. i might get an acura ecu then...
thanks for the info!

I would either get the teg ecu or get your si one chipped. The hf will definitely not be good since its made to run a 1.5 sohc that only made half the power of your zc.

yeahh i was just thinking of going with the v-jet ecu (plug in) and see how good it works. if not a friend of mine has a venom 400 he might get rid off, so i'll see.
Thanks!

the hf redlines in the 5k zone, so if it goes over that, its not stock.

Not to bust on you, but your wrong BOSS.
The si ecu has a redline of 6500. I believe you are thinking of the zc redline which is 7200.

are you saying redline or revlimit.. cuz redline doesn't mean ****

and the revlimit is 7200 on a pm6 ecu.. which is a d16a6 ecu

maybe you are retarded.

Yeah unless you consider floating a valve a benefit.

THe ZC rods aren't up to 8,000 rpm shifts. Then there is the spectre of valve float, plus the cams on the ZC don't make power that high. And anyway the stock JDM ZC ecu fuel cutoff (more than 7,200 but less than 7,800) won't let you rev that high anyway (if you used the JDM ZC ECU, which has perfect fuel maps but a 112mph speed limiter). Unless you plan on doing headwork, and valve train mods along with Eagle rods and custom cams I would highly recomend keeping it under 7,200 rpm.

Dude, the ECUs have a lower rev limit when the head is cold. It could be the ZC temp sensor isn't letting the ECU kick into the warm limit. You need to check out the resistance across the sensor's two pins when the engines hot. This sensor is the one under the dist. with the two terminals.

Regardless of cold or hot reve limit , he's talking about reving to 8,000 frequently which is a bad idea without more tan a couple mods to the engine. he is seein'g a 6,800 rpm fuel limiter, and I run a ZC Ecu not a TEG or and SI one. I know my fuel limiter hits about 7,400 - 7,600 when I don't keep a close enough eye on the tach. With the high speed merges you have to do here in DC in a lot of places its easy to hit it. I was making my statement on that part of his comments. The ZC is NOT a B16. And you can't rev it like one without mods. If you care about it lasting very long.

okay about the 8k rpm's sorry i went a little over the top... it was ussually about 7200. Anyways i'll keep the si ecu. i'll probably use the v-jet plug in and not rev. over 6600, i need my eng.
Thanks for the info...

dont know about you guys but my ECU has no rev limiter/fuell cut or Speed limiter.

I think that hesitation of the car att like 7200 RPMS isnt a rev limiter or fuell cut it is your valves hitting the pistons.

If is a US DM ecu you have no speed limiter but they all have fuel cutoff point and in effect rev limiters, UNLESS yours has been chipped.

when he said "rod" he was referring to connecting rod.

side note. I have chromoly pushrods in my b16 and now i can rev to 15,000 rpm
