'89 CRX si BLOWN TRANNY?? HELP
My lady's commuter car lost it's zip yesterday. Swapped the clutch about 15k ago, it will shift into gear no problem but when the clutch is released in any gear it's as though you're in neutral. When trying reverse there's one hell of a racket and still no go.
Perhaps drive shaft or transfer plate?
Any input is much appreciated.
Cheers!

What clutch did you use? From personal experience, the ONLY one to use is the exedy oem replacement in a stock application. My crx had a new clutch in it when I bought it, lasted 18k, then went. Yes I am very easy on drivetrain items. Just recently changed the clutch in my em at 171k, it was the original. If you bought a replacement at one of the cheap stores, you got took. Buy the oem kit from amazon, it will work properly.

GL frazz the only true way to find out is to drop the tranny and inspect. but if you can put it into gear and it just acts in nuetral then i would say its the clutch/flyplate. i just had to replace my exedy clutch because it was slipping for unknown reasons i adjusted the cable several times and issue continued. i opened it up and inspected the clutch and fly plate all looked good but was not. the clutch had polished itself and was losing its grab on the fly. had to replace despite the fact it was at 90% of the clutch still intact.
