Default Newbie needing the recipe for a 12sec all motor eg civic

I am newbie to the Hcamp and was wondering if there was a solid combo for a daily driven 12sec all motor 5th gen civic.
I know this is a very broad question and I dont expect Every little detail (although I would love to know as much as possible) just basically the motor side. I pretty sure there needs to be some serious weight reduction. I know there needs to be some suspension mods as well as slicks. However What type of motor work needs to be done. I thinking
High comp slugs at least 12:5:1
Balance everything.
Stock rods for a NA setup Should be fine.
Ported head with a high rev valvetrain such as valves, springs, cams etc.
Ecu chipped for NA setup.
Lsd tranny with Lightweight flywheel, racing clutch.
Plus all the basic bolts on I/H/E MSD.
How does this sound so far?????
OH yea one hell of a driver!!!!!

The reason I want to know is I am tired of all these V guys talking down on hondas
Its like every where you go its honduh this and ricer that. Just like I when I go to the illegals the v guys are always talking how they ran 13.2 in the firechickens or they just beat up on a ricer on the highway. Or when I post at other forums and they say things like" speed kills drive a civic and life for ever". Now I know there are plenty of slow *** hondas with loud exhaust and 10 pounds of stickers with huge wings creating down force on a FWD car. So what, they cant say they don't look good as hell or else there wouldn't be Domestic Rice out there. We all know what that is!!!!!!! Its just I want to see there face when I start to walk on there A$$ at the topend. Then popping my hood after the race and them saying you sprayed me mann. Thats not fair. Where is the NOS?

That is what I would call PRICELESS..............

what do you mean 'at least'????? You do realize even that will be pushing it on pump gas? You said you wanted a 'daily driver'...

Also, you list all these mods, but you said nothing about an engine.

You want 12 seconds all motor? Lightly modded H22 + slicks OR Lightly modded b18c5 + slicks

there r VERY FEW of either of those setups runnin 12s. ill b honest. H22 power is sweet but they dont run 12s very easily, even on slicks. most setups i see still run upper 13s to low 14s in civics.
also even the C5 lightly modded doesnt = 12s in most cases. check w/tom hes run it on slicks in a CX hatch and hasnt run 12s.

with a B18C5 powertrain with only an AEM CAI and on M/T 14x8x20 slicks weighing in at 2350lbs, I ran 13.100 @ 103mph with a 1.9 60'

with a B18C5 + Toda B cams, Spoon 4-2-1 header and 11.4 CR and on M&H 13x8x22 slicks weighing in at 2292 lbs, I ran 12.80 @ 107mph with a 2.0 60'

I added the Z10 radius bars and got my 60' down to 1.71 but blew my clutch. I feel I could've hit AT LEAST 12.50 @1xx mph.

This car is 100% daily driven, street legal with nothing cut up, etc. etc. etc.

All my runs were full interior (no back seat) and the weights include me in the car.

Sorry, I did forget what motor. It would have to be a "b" motor 16a, 18c1, c5. I feel that the weight on a h22 would be to much. You would add so much more weight with that swap to your car. I thought 12:5:1 would be ok on pump gas "93".
As for the civic it would be a hatch.....

You think an H22 would be too much...so I guess you think 12.5:1 compression on 93 is pretty simple.

I say you stop where you are. It sounds to me like you're not too experienced/knowledgeable and you would be in way over your head if you tried attempting that setup. Unless you have a lot of money and can just take your car to a good shop and have them do everything for you. But there's no fun in that.

In your case, if you MUST have a 12 second car, here's what I would do:

B18C5
- intake
- exhaust
- header
- clutch

Suspension
- Integra coil overs (I like Skunk2)
- Shocks are your choice, there are so many
- Z10 traction bars

And some weight reduction. That should be good for a 12 second 1/4 mile.

EG CX hatch with a C5.....some BFG drag radials....aem cai.....dc jdm 4-1....open header.....maybe a JUN flywheel and act full street disc.....I can see a 12.99 with that.....I have run a 14.09@97.7 on an Si ecu with I/H on a C5 at 2700ft in an EK (2590) which would be a 13.63@101 at sea level...slap in a P73 ecu....should see 13.30's.....in a cx weighing 2200lbs with me in it I am sure I could see 12's.

If not that a CRX + 01' C5+ I/H + BFG drag radials = 12's

Its not "hard" to do.....but C5's aint cheap.....but that setup is as reliable as it gets.

My Accord weighs 2370+Driver and I have a stock internals H22 with open header,Intake, 15x22x8 MTs and I run 13.26@103. If I dropped that H22 engine into a civic that weights 1900LBS, Ill guarantee you mid to high 12s all day while keeping "stock" reliability.

Thanks for everyone's help....
Now to address HybridDreams....
First of all, If you read my original post I said I was a "NEWBIE" Hence, New to the Honda Camp... Therefore, naturally I would not be that knowledgeable/experienced as much as someone like yourself. In reguards to the h22 being too much I was referring to the weight of the motor it self. As far as the 12.5:1 compression goes I wasn't sure if this would work. I know this is rather high for pump gas that's why I created this post. I wanted to get feedback from people that might have a 12sec setup and that are willing to share the knowledge. The way I came up with this list was that I gather info for articles, post, websites that claim to have a 12sec all motor honda. At no time did I say I was gonna attempt to build this setup anyway.
If this post seemed to be stupid why even bother to reply then? Its seems as if you are a little upset from the way you post your last reply.
Wassup with that??????

I don't think there is an exact recipe for 12sec all motor times. I mean what are you trying to run 12.99, 12.50 or faster. Very high 12sec times can be achieved with a stock block, head modifications and other bolt on parts, but there are people out there that run these times with just bolt-ons. I personally have a Ls/vtec in a EK hatch and love it but it depends on the car, weight, driver and of course traction. I say if you want a good start go with a B18c5 or B20vtec start adding the bolt-on parts first see how close you are to 12's then go from there. I've seen so called full built daily drivers not make it into the 12's and seen cars with bolt-ons run unbelievable numbers. Just remember there's other factors involved not just the motor. (See ya in the 12's)

EG Civic + slicks + 190whp = high 12's in the 105mph range.

I had a '94 Coupe with 191whp, 12.80's @ 106mph all day on shitty slicks, open diff... 100 degree Florida temperatures.

You should come to Az and count how many H22 are in Civics around here that run low times. I know of 3 personally

You think i dont speak from experience? What I think is what has been proven and what works.

Check the sig. GSr motor+ITR pistons+CTR cams+I/H/E+slicks and good driver should get the car solid into the 12's.
