Cheap Place to get the Accord Antenna
The antenna on my 95 Accord snapped off and I'm looking to replace it, but the dealership wants an arm and a leg for a replacement one.
Does anyone know a place online or located in So. Cal where I can pick up a motorized replacement antenna for cheap?
Thanks

I picked mine up on e-bay last spring because the ice frooze it and then killed the motor. I got mine for $40 plus like $5 shipping. When I was looking for one I remember there were a lot up for auction so you should be able to find one. Oh yeah, it was new in the box (not used) with instructions and a warranty. If it's just a mast your looking for I think they were going for like $20-25 plus shipping on e-bay.
wow, wait, i dont think u need to replace the whole motor.
You probably only need the antenna mass. $10 on ebay
its easy to replace your selft.
all i did was turn on the radio, yank the old one out with my bare hands
and then feed the new one with the tracks in it, and turn of the stereo.
then shove the rest of the antenna into the body.
i did this on my gf 94, im glad i have a 96

I have two 4th Gen Accord EX's with the optional (or dealer installed ? Every EX around here has it......) rear wing. The wing catches the antenna when you close the trunk. The guy I bought my '91 from had replaced 3. A guy at work has the same problem with his '93. Found a black "rubberized" antenna about 10" tall at Auto Zone for $9.99 that looks pretty good and has good reception. The wing just touches the tip when you close the trunk and since it flexes it doesn't hurt it. Power antennas are a pain in the *** anyway.
just a thought: if you turn OFF the radio before opening or closing the trunk, you shouldnt have a problem breaking them off.
I have a 94 EX and the antenna isn't integrated in the window...why's that?
cause only the 96 and 97 have integrated antenna, not the 94 or 95

I have a 94 EX Coupe with leather and I most certainly do have an antenna integrated into my back window.
Hmm I cant imagine why Honda would only do this on certain models. This lack of an external antenna makes for cleaner and more aerodymic bodylines. I wonder if they did it to experiment or something. Has anyone ever heard if these in-window antennas have problems or worse reception? I know some domestics put them in the windshield a while back but had problems if the windshield cracked or something.

I've never noticed a difference in reception with the in-glass vs. retractable antennas, the nice thing about the in window ones is that you don't have to worry about breaking them when you run the customers car through the car wash at work......dumb n00b runners always did that **** at my work
So if someone wanted to shave their antenna they could get the rear window with the integrated antenna. Where would you get one from?
i don't think it would be worth the cost. Honda would carry it for sure, im not positive if ABRA or other aftermarket glass replacement services *** around with that stuff.

How much do you think one would cost? Also, how hard would it be to hook one up?

Probably close to $450-$500 for the rear windshield and you would have to reroute the antenna wire to the C pillar.
well you can shave the antenna and get a cheap window antenna kit for about $50, also you can just use a regular antenna and mount it somewhere in the car, i did that on my crx, i put it in the trunk and it worked fine.
