B16 CRX peeps (help)
Hey guys. I'm needing some help with a couple of my problems. I have 91 CRX HF with a B16. Now here's my problem.
While I'm crusing my engine kinda surges. Not really bad, but enough for me to feel it. I also notice on my A/F gauge that it goes really lean, then it will go rich, and I can feel the car jerk slightly. It won't do it when I'm at FOT, and I don't have any CEL codes.
What could this be????

you are having o2 sensor issues. You have one of two problems.
1) your second o2 sensor wire is not making contact at the ecu. jam it in there.
2) your o2 sensors are reversed. switch them (no don't take them out and switch them...just swap the two wires...it is easiest at the ecu.
try these things....if its not these then i don't know.

On the back of your throttle body, connected to the throttle cable. It's the 3-wire sensor that tells the ECU how much gas you're giving it (Throttle Position Sensor)
It's not your TPS.
You're O2's are BACKWARDS. Just take wires that come from the sensors off the manifold and cut and splice them as to switch the signals.. If you don't understand IM me. You should understand if you got this far by yourself

what exactly rules the 02 sensors out ?
if he has the two sensor wires connected to one sensor, or the sensors reversed that could cause the engine to run incredibly rich or incredibly lean causing a bogging\hesitation.
i say check the o2 sensors

Ok I will check the O2 sensors and make sure they are connect good on the ecu, and also reverse them to see how it acts.
Thanks for the help guys.

if its obd0, which it prolly is, its NOT the 02s
Ok guys, how do I determine which is the primary sensor and the secondary one??
I see them both on the exhaust manifold, but which is which??

to remove the pins.. take the C connector off the ecu.. insert a needle in the hole between the wires.. on the opposite side of the wires
Hold the connector so you look straight at it with the wires on the other side.. and you will see 2 rows of holes where the pins are and the a row of smaller holes between them
insert a pin in the small hole, pointing it slightly towards the pin you wish to remove.. do this while pulling the wire you want to remove. should come out really easy, if not keep pokin around.. you will get it

You guys were right!!!
The O2 sensors were backwards. I re-wired them and now it runs great. My A/F gauge even works better because it's reading the Primary sensor and not the secondary like I had it before.
Thanks for all the help!!

Somebody call Betty Ford...The first step is to admit that you HAVE a problem
If it's obd0 LIKE MOST SWAPS OF THIS TYPE....... Then IT'S MOST LIKELY THE O2'S!!

do you have any pics of what to splice? i already used the carb cleaner and it didn't work, i only see one o2 sensor on my car and it's on the bottom half of the dc headers. pics would help alot! i gotta get my fix it ticket fixed and surging bet. 1500rpms and 3500rpms in front of a cop isn't good.
