Default B16B Fully Built EG Hatch

Hello,

Well the time has come for me to start my build, here is a lil run down of whats going in it and my plans. Lets start by saying Laskey Racing is doing the build for me, just took him all the parts and block/head to him yesterday.

Spec.

B16B CTR block
Benson Sleeves
GSR Crank
OEM CTR Girdle
OEM Water pump
OEM oil pump
Skunk2 GSR Rods H beam
Wiseco 84mm High Compression Pistons
ARP head studs
B16a Head
Port Flow ported/polish ect.
Supertech Valves I/E
Supertech Dual valve springs
Skunk2 Pro series Stage 2 cams
Blox Intake Mani
Blox billet 68mm TB
BDL cam gears
B16 Hydro Trans Built by Synchrotech
MFactory LSD

I'm still on the hunt for a good Header, cant make up my mind yet. Also on the hunt for a better Intake Mani. So any ideas on something good with a lot of flow feel free to let me know! Also any comments or ideas about the build shot them my way.

here are a couple of pictures

Here is how the car sits now, ls/vtec turbo 272whp @ 10psi

I'll post more photos as soon as they up load.

So it's basically a GSR block and stroke now, a stock b16b shares the same deck height as a GSR, ITR but uses a different crank and rod stroke to make it a 1.6L

A B16B block is a GSR, ITR block but with B16B stamp on the front.

OK "Clean rice" whats your "Definition" or "Opinion" of Fully built?! It uses a stock head and stock block and stock crank so that makes it not fully built?! funny but I guess everyone has there Opinion about things.....

LOL. He is saying the term doesn't make sense."Fully Built". It's like saying that engine is "Built all to hell"...it's slang and some consider it stupid. I find is stupid and funny at the same time. Nevertheless, good luck with the build.

Lol by no means is it a race motor build, just something to have fun with, maybe I should change the title to" a healthy B16B build" lol

Hi,

Nice build tho I did observe something which did not make sense to me. Feel free to correct me.

1> High Compression pistons in a turbo build ? Am i missing out on something thought turbo builds generally have low compression pistons.

2> Isnt the power its making a bit less. Am making 245 whp in my NA civic on 91 Octane fuel with 10.5:1 compression

No offense just something that I thought was not right.

Not a turbo build, This is a NA build, my old set up is turbo, maybe that's why u think its turbo. The pictures I posted is what is in the car now, and will be pulled out once new motor is finish.

The WHP I posted is what my ls/vtec turbo is making right now.

Not as much anymore. because of advancements in tuning options, capabilities and fuels. MOST now are going at minimum 10.0:1 for static compression for turbocharger builds. Although it does depend upon the purpose of the car and who is tuning the engine. But that "low compression" thought process went out the window a bit over 10-15 years ago.

Nice build!
She must be fun to drive

maybe going turbo with that comp. would not be a bad idea..
YOu'd get better fuel mileage forsure even more so if you get the LS 5th.
I think Inline4 has a few sets on hand.

So here are a couple of photos from the past few days, took the old ls/vtec out the car on Friday night, then worked on getting everything off the old motor that needs to get put on the new motor, My hondata s300 just came in yesterday, I'm waiting on new motor mounts to come in as well as a new flywheel. I should have new motor installed by Friday, I still need to call Church's Automotive to set up a Dyno appointment!

Any ideas on a header, I was thinking on just getting the skunk2 header!? any input would be nice
