Once in a while I get a buzzing sound when starting my EF and will not crank. The motor will start if I try it again. Just wondering if this is a problem that needs an attention right away.

Yes and no. You don't want to be stranded, do you?

Is it buzzing from under the dash area? Maybe by your left knee? IF so, probably the main relay going pootsy. Could be a ground wire. Clean your engine/chassis grounds. Worst case scenario you'll need a starter (2 bolts irrc). Probably a ground/main relay.

 

I've had similar symptoms when the battery itself was going...

 

Mine has done that for over 10 years. I want to also say the crx before did that as well. I've never had it turn into anything and my car has always started, but have always wondered myself. Seems as through I somehow blame myself for not turning the key fast enough LOL

 

I read about turning the key faster and so far it has been working for me.
