Now that we have 2011 Civic in our garage, I am likely to be here more often.

It's son's ride. He had a quite unreliable apart Mazdaspeed and I finally retained ot from him and bought him 11 Civic coupe.
Well, she through one of those infamous "check fuel cap" msg-s today. Quick scope online showed that it's fairly common issue, but everything I found was mostly several years old and had no solution.

Was this solved somehow? I told him to buy new cap. I remember from my 04 CR-V times, cap was the only part I had to buy to replace too.
I checked her with good scanner, she has no error codes.
Just in case, was this issue resolved?

 

Many times, the fuel cap just needs to be tighten. It usually is recommended to turn the fuel cap after re-fueling till you hear about 3 clicks.

 

I had that a couple of weeks ago. Tighten the cap and continue driving. It does go away.
