Default Type of Tranny?

Got a 90 HB DX and dropped a b161 2 gen in? Don't like my gear racio right now and was wondering if getting the si tranny of a 91 lx would be better and if it would fit? Or what do you think the best tranny is to get? I'm trying to get better accel sooo yea. Found si lx tranny off a 91 civic HB and is asking 500$ iz this a good deal?

thanx

ok first of all b series engines need b series tranny's. you can't bolt up a d series tranny to the b series. so if you have a b16 then you need like an LS tranny. what are you exactly looking for? you should have pretty decent acceleration if you have the stock b16 tranny. you could always get a ITR tranny too. it will just run at high rpm's on the high way. but what tranny do you have on the car now?

I have the stock tranny that came with my motor that I bought from http://www.nippon-motors.com. I was just thinking that if I went ls or something I would get better accel or so I am told.

The LS will give worse accleration....longer gears. Did you do a custom hydro conversion to use the stock trans off the 2nd gen b16 or are you using an older cable trans?

I don't mean to butt in with questions that i need answered, but I need a cable tranny for my b18b. i might go turbo, but i know i can get a b16 tranny from honda motors garaunteed with low miles. should i be looking for a b18a tranny even though i might not go turbo for awhile? (like maybe 2 years, ******* school is expensive.) oh and by the way, not all of us are all up in the s1, ys1, j1, obd1, i1, p1, 911, lt1, ls1 lingo.

b18a or b16a tranny?

thanks
