D16Y8/D16A6 Adjustable Cam Gears Interchangeable?
Just wondering if I could use the same adjustable cam gear I had on my D16A6 on my D16Y8 mini me head swap. I think I'm having timing issues and want to confirm.

if you do want to set the right centerline of the cam degree your cam, as seen here
DIY: Degree your cam
the d16z6, d16a6, d15b7, d15b2 all use a cam gear that is indexed the same
the d16y7, d16y8 both use a cam gear that is 4.5 * or half a tooth off that of the d16z6, d16a6, d15b7, d16b2

Thanks, so looks like I can't use it. I have the stock Y8 cam gear I'm going to throw that on tonight and see how it works. If so I'll order an adjustable AEM later on.
Basically the cats acting sluggish as hell, not idling and feels like it has 2hp under 3000 rpm. Climbing a hill I could probably push the car faster. I couldn't figure it out since I made sure I adjusted timing to TDC with the cam gear marking facing up.

Or does that mean I can simply advance the timing 4.5 degrees and it should be ok? Since I have an adjustable. Sorry if my question is dumb it's been a LONG day.
