I've recently acquired a 2001 Honda CRV EX.. Good condition, little surface rust action on the fenders, but other than that everything is in good working order... EXCEPT for the door locks.

I believe they are similar to many other door lock ***** Honda used at the time.. So that input helps. Generic image of door locking ****:

The front driver and passenger doors... do not lock. Not with the electronic fob, not with the internal door lock switch, and not even with the key. The little **** that goes up and down is in a mushy twilight zone. I can't force it down.. or pull it up even. The doors are forever unlocked at the moment.

My two rear doors are kind of iffy too. Very tough to get them to go up and down, but they do lock. My utmost concern is that I be able to lock all my doors without having to worry about them.

From my limited experience with cars, I can say:
There is an electronic sound being made in all the doors. The driver and passenger front doors don't do anything, the rear doors are split (one will open and lock with the key fob, one will open but not lock with the key fob--it has trouble going down)

My biggest questions is... how screwed am I? Is it just something on the ***** that needs to be opened up and fixed? Or am I in the market for new parts all around?

I will say though, at the current moment, I do not care whether or not the doors open electronically or not. I will manually open all 4 doors if needed, if thats what the easiest/cheapest solution is. I will also note that I did remove the fuse that controlled the electronic door lock system, and that didn't let me lock the front doors either.

Anything at all will be helpful at this point!
