2003 Civic DX Charging System Light
I have a 2003 Honda Civic DX with 139,000 miles. I had a charging system light go on about a week ago. It would stay on for a few seconds and then go back off again. This happened on and off for my drive home, so I turned off all my electrical equipment and made it home. I replaced my alternator, which was as old as the car, and the battery, which was from 2007. I drove for about 150 miles with no problems. Now I keep having the charging system light blink on and off at random times as I shift gears or hit my brakes. When it blinks on and off it only stays on for literally a blink, probably not even a second. Any ideas what might be going on?
Check for tight fittings. Check for corrosion. Check for breaks in the wire. If all else fails, turn the car on and wiggle wires to see if it happens when you wiggle a wire, then repair/replace that wire.
