Accord 3rd clutch switch part# and location???
First post and first Honda!
2002 Accord EX V6 Auto
Pulled a code for third clutch switch on the car.
Im not sure which one on the tranny this is. Local Honda dealer was less than no help. Then he said its not in his parts book. I guess maybe its named different between parts/service manuals.
Anyway I need a part number and a way to determine which is for the third clutch. My service manual had one little paragraph on this and the image wasnt much help to a honda rookie...
Thanks for you help in advance. ..

Skip to page ~500 to get to the AT transmission.
Keep going til you find diagnostics for your code. Follow the procedure to check harness/pins/etc.
Part #14 on the below diagram. Sorry dunno which one is for 3rd and which for 2nd. Look for leaking, might just need #16 if there is a pressure issue. Look for damage to the wire harness and
The 3rd clutch pressure switch on a V6 is on the underside of the vehicle, front of transmission.
Just for informational purposes, the 2nd clutch pressure switch is on the left side of the V6 engine, on the transmission and higher up.
For the 6th generation Accord V6, both pressure switches are the same Honda part number.

So if I ever do find it (doubtful), will fluid continue to leak out if I remove it? Or only if car would be started?
Still might need a photo.....

I will temporarily post the photo.
Service manual does not mentioned to drain the ATF for replacement of the pressure switch; so, probably little if any will drain out during switch replacement. You don't want to start the car with the switch removed from the transmission. When replacing switch, use a new crush washer.
