I have the JG 1001in my car and I am very pleased with the performance, but my idle is too inconsistant. What are the best cams for a LS motor with head work, strong bottom end, Zdyne Gold ecu, big injectors, skunk2 intake manifold, and a t3t40e turbo? I have seen alot of vtec cam questions for turbo but not enough info on LS cams. Is the stock cams the best for turbo applications? My buddy told me to put in my stock cams because he thinks it will run perform better. Whats your take on this guys. I would like to start a informative thread for the LS guys and myself. Post cam charts if you have them and dyno numbers. My goal is to get my 2860 pound Integra with me in it into the low 12's high 11's. But must remain streetable above all else.
any cam with more more lift, equal duration and NO overlap should help make more power.
i'm unfamiliar with honda/acura cams, but i'm sure someone here is....
edit: Equal duration, oops =]

For a turbo cam you should be looking for more lift LESS duration. More duration would mean more overlap. So far crower has been the best ls turbo cam i've heard about.

there is a HUUUUUUUUUGE market for an LS turbo cam. If someone would develop a cam that would allow the LS to make power to 8k w/ boost levels from 10-20psi it would sell like hot cakes. I know there are soooooo many LS guys who would buy the turbo cam w/ valvesprings & retainers.. there doesnt seem to any proven cams out for the LS right now, the demand is there, just not the supply.
The LS cams are designed, it is just a matter of getting them made, testing them, tuning cars with them, etc. Basically the easy part is done, BUT most of the work still needs to be done.
HT will be the first to hear about their release, and there will be a monster GB for them after they are released. Most likely I will be hosting the GB, answering questions, etc.
Right now that is all the info I have. Rocket is working hard to get the cams, springs retainers, produced, and tested. I am taking on some extra work to free up his time, and we are collaborating on some things.
I do not have an ETA or an estimated price. These things will come in the coming weeks, months. As you know all sort of cams from turbo D16 to NA B18C cams are in the works and they should all be released at the same time.

Yup, I talked to rocket about a week ago about his turbo cams for the LS. They seem to be close to the specs of the custom Web Cams i'm running. It'll be interesting to see what kinda dyno numbers you guys can get out of some turbo LS cams.
Just a side note, the Crower turbo cams seem way to peaky. Sure they've got lots of lift (about 11.9mm), but the duration is almost stock-ish. That makes the cams have a VERY steep slope with not much pad at the top of the lobe. To me that doesn't seem like a very valve-train healthy combo. From what I conversed with Rocket, the specs he's got coming for his cams would seem to share the same line of thinking. We'll see how it all works out for you guys though.............I've already got my turbo cams
