Hi all! Some background and what-not from the FNG
Hi, I'm Ryan, and I've been a big fan of Honda for all my driving life. Though my *first* car was a Datsun (and what a beast she was!) my heart a forever stolen by a certain 1984 Prelude, which had nearly *every* component removed, replaced, refurbished, or repurposed by myself.
My father was an auto mechanic, M-B and VW, before he decided he'd rather be a physician
He managed to teach me quite a bit about the fundament and function of a modern vehicle, and some classics to boot!
My mother currently owns a Honda, which I helped her select, and she's had it in the stable without much issue since 2007. She drives a 2006 CR-V SE, with the painted bumpers/spare cover/trim and the part leather interior, plus nice looking wheels and other accoutrements that the lower models lacked. It's place of manufacture was in the United Kingdom, it having an "S" VIN, as well as saying so
Anywhooo, it's her baby, and she's kept it serviced religiously at the stealership, all recommended services on time.
The rear differential was swapped out a few years back, and not because it was troublesome, but because it (the fluid, really) was recalled, and when they inspected it, they found that the faulty fluid had damaged the differential, and swapped it out within 24 hours, for free, and gave us a loaner!
The vehicle's A/C compressor was also swapped out a few years back, and that's the department in which our current problem lies, so I will create and post something more on target in the apropos forum, I just wanted to say "hello" and give you all a little info about me and the auto. For anyone interested, we quite suddenly lost cooling power on the CR-V today (and of course it's 90 and balmy out).
Hope everyone's having a better weekend than me
Look forward to some witty banter and shop talk.
Regards,
Ryan

Thank you!
