I recently bought a D16Y8 engine (Because my old one blew) and I'm going to put it in the car sometime soon.

While it was out I was wondering what I could do to make it look badass like in the magazines. I have a painted Valve cover that is like a japanese flag but that's about it.

 

Nice aftermarket header and intake, "wire tuck" engine harness.

 

Pick a magazine. Do what they do.

 

Paint and clean the engine bay while the engine is out.
