I have a 91 accord 4cyl auto trans that is making a noise that is driving me crazy...help. It is a cross between a screeching belt and a vibrating heat shield. It comes on only when the car starts to move and lasts about 5 secs and stops. This repeats every 5 - 10 seconds and does not change with engine speed or with vehicle speed. It almost sounds as if there is an independent motor or vacuum valve that is cycling. Whatever it is it is very annoying. I have not raised the car to see if there is anything underneath that can cause this. I have never owned a Honda and bought this car as an alternative to my diesel truck for fuel economy. It is a beater but I am interested in keeping it in a good running condition. Other than the seat belt re-tractor stopping working it runs pretty good..Can anyone point me in a direction that would solve either of these problems? I have heard that the dealer is requird to repair the seat belt deal, but the noise is driving me crazy. Thanks
