94 CX swap problem.
Hey everyone, I recently picked up a 94 Civic CX Hatch, 5 speed. Has a brand new block and head on it. Its a z6 block and a y7 head. Its running the P05 Ecu.
My problem is, the car runs fine, revs up fine in neutral, everything is good. Apart from some stupid Fuel cut/Rev limit problem. Ive done a ton of research but turned up with nothing. I found out that the CX ecu runs a pretty low rev limit and fuel cut, but my issue is happening lower. It runs into some barrier at somewhere from 3-4.5k im guessing( No tach due to it being a CX ). Runs awesome and hits that thing in every gear. Its really annoying having to merge into traffic with the powerband of a grandma. Ive tried swapping the Map and TPS, and tried unplugging the various sensors back there, All result in a CEL and no fix. Normally with all the sensors in the car has NO CEL. Which is weird. What do you guys think? Some sort of Limp mode? Ecu trashed? Im attaching a video of the issue.

You're using the completely wrong ECU for that setup. The P05 is trying to control a D15B8 (70 BHP on a good day). At the very least, you should use a P06. Ideally, you should use a chipped ECU that has been tuned for your specific setup, though.
Edit: Evidently I'm slow to respond. If you're having a hard time finding a P06, get any socketted and chipped OBD1 ECU, call Xenocron, tell them what you have, and they'll cut and mail you a chip for it that will make it run MUCH better.

Seriously. I have a spare one that was converted to VTEC and is chipped.

A vtec one would throw codes right? Vtec solenoid etc? That p06 is pretty pricey, people sell virgin p28s here for less than that =O.
Yes, a VTEC ECU would throw a code.
That price is about right. An unmodified P28 for less than that would make me think something was wrong with it, quite frankly.
