need advice with air intake/battery mod
Okay so i'm rebuilding this civic from the inside out and im planning on putting a more heavy duty battery (deep cycle) under the hood for audio. Problem is, the battery needs 2 more inches clearance. I've decided to take the old intake out and put a performance, short barrel, in. The intake, starting from the throttle body,1.) has a small hose that bridges off into the engine, then following the hose, goes into the air filter box on the passenger side corner of the hood, and then drops down, turning into a plastic rectangular intake tube. The only thing i was worried about when planning this idea is the MAF sensor. I read up in my haynes and it says there is no MAF sensor... Is there another sensor along the length of the air intake that i'm not seeing? Or can i just take of the old and put on the new without the PCM acting up?

Alright!
You can remove the intake you have now. Just connect the existing line (circled in green) to the new intake (circled in green). You DO NOT have a MAF sensor. This tube is should be positive crank case ventilation or something like that. It may go to the PVC and to the black canister (charcoal filter) for emission reasons.
Does that help?
