thinking about LS/VTEC
i got a 94 ls motor .... im thinking about ls vtec... i havent been in the whole import scene for that long so im not that well educated about cars.
(cars owned, 99 ex turbo'd,95 integ. ls ...currently 95 gsr,and 90 hatch with 94 ls motor) i havent really gotten to replacing any pistons and stuff yet, or doing the ls/vtec swap. i would like info from people who have done the swap or owned a ls/vtec and there experiences with it..
things i would like to know:
-list of every part i would need to convert vtec on ls motor (besides bolts/nuts)
-if there are big hp/tq #'s on putting a b16a,b17, b18c1,b18c5
-cost of each part (rough estimate)
-How long they last(i heard you should redue the whole bottom end for it to run perfect, and be very reliable)
- like i said i know alot about car models, like exterior, interior modes and have only owned nice clean looking rides, but my knowledge on compression ratio,piston,internals in general is very poor . i would like to learn more and be able to build faster more reliable vehicles.thanks,Randy
