Eg hatch gsr won't stay on!
I blew a head gasket a month ago and wanted to upgrade everything. I got blox stage two cams supertech complete valvetrain cometic head gasket and put it all back together after getting it back from the machine shop and tried to start it and it's starts but dies if you don't give it gas. I figured it might be timing and it was a little off and I fixed it so it's now dead on but still does exactly the same thing. What should I look for or do?
You really think it won't stay on cause of the ecu? I have a chipped ecu but it's chipped for a stock gsr obviously. I figured it would stay on but not run no where near it's full potential
And you people don't give any real info to help you. Does it throw a CEL when it dies? Are the injectors spraying fuel? Fuel pressure? Is the only thing you checked was the timing?

Fuel pressure I turned up to 50 and I believe the injectors are fine because like I said if I give it gas the car will stay on. As soon as I let off the gas pedal it dies
Someone posted a similar issue but I don't recall the resolution, if any. Car was not modified though. If I come across it I'll link you.

cams are too big. adjust your idle and relearn idle after.

I have skunk2 cam gears. I have adjusted them and nothing. Anyways I di the valve adjustment and turned the screw on the throttle body and now it idles fine. well by fine I mean idles at like 1400ish. Im gonna just break the engine in and my new clutch for a little and then get it dyno tuned. For bow its running and im gonna drive it to work today.
well i just posted a video on how to find your valve timing with the adjustable cam gears. WHICH IS IMPORTANT. if they are not adjusted right they can burn! crack! then you'll have your self a bigger problem
