Year, make model? Is your check engine light on while the car is running? Does it turn off after the car turns off and on again? Solid chexked engine light means no current codes found.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't a solid state CEL on these cars also mean the ECU could be bad. Been out of the Honda game for a few years, but I'm pretty positive I've dealt with this before and the ECU was culprit.

its honda integra 1994 dohc vtec.i think you are right.might be no code found.
last year i took my car to mechanic to change broken distributor.he put brand new distributor in the car.
I noticed loss of power and the car start jerking a bit when it warmed up (it goes good when engine not warmed up )
i changed the spark plugs but the problem continuous.
so that's why i wanted to see if it show any codes by using paper clip.
sorry i am not good at explaining things but hope you understood a bit.
thanks

So your car was not throwing a CEL, you just went and tested it anyway? then yeah ...its not going to tell you anything.

Was there a reason why u jumped it for the codes? I dealt with this a couple months ago and it is code zero which is very likely a bad ecu or I read it could be a fault in a wire to one of the major sensors like tps or map. My car died on me so I took the chip out to try another and then couldnt find the 2nd chip, so I put it back but in the wrong direction which fried the chip. Got a new chip and also fixed my original issue ( wire came loose @ fuel pump) and it fired right up with no solid cel
