Please help: the air conditioner in my 2007 odyssey EX is not running consistently. The blower and control panel appears to work normally, but the cold air is off and on. It seems as if a jarring pothole will bring the cold air back on when it is out.

I read prior posts on the ac resistor, but this problem seemed different, as the cold air works well at times.

Mark, my 2005 odyssey (Touring) just started doing the same things you described...intermittent cooling, then none, then cool for a while...now it seems dead. I had not noticed the "jarring effect you describe. Did you every get a fix on the problem.

check the a/c compressor to see if it rattles. if it does, the clutch, stator (field coil), and relay need to be replaced. check a/c pressures to see if refrigerant level is ok.

 

Thanks...you were right on. turned out the compressor was dead so had to do a "Big-bucks" replacement of compressor, adsorbent, Freon and the rest. Probably paid too much ($1200) but got the same story from two shops, so facing a cross ****ry trip across the South the die was cast!
