I want to change the whole exhaust system. I've been reading a lot and this is what I plan on ordering for my stock 98 prelude base:

1- Hytech replica header (from Eddie Kronn)
2- Magnaflow Hi Flow Cat
3- Greddy Evo 2 Cat back exhaust

Where should I order the cat and the cat back from? I see a lot of magnaflow cats on ebay but they're so cheap I wonder if its the real deal.. I dont mind paying a little more as long as I get good quality stuff.

As for the Greddy Evo 2 catback... according to Greddy website it's discontinued?

Would you happen to know where I can order one still?

 

since you're going to be adding a bit of custom (with the magnaflow) just buy the evo 2 OEM and have a shop fit/weld the exhaust...

I was looking for a greddy sp2 or evo2 and no cat back seems to exist for our cars anymore and that's the best solution i could find

 

Summit has pretty good prices on the cats, as does Amazon if they have the right one(s). Check out Magnaflow's site to compare the cats; there are some significant differences. IMO it's better to spend the little extra money and get a heavy metal, spun-cell cat over the basic ones.

You'll have to hunt around for the Evo2 and see if someone still happens to have it in stock. I would advise you start considering an alternative while you search. Kteller sells a piping kit in about any size you want, so if you find just the muffler or pick up an Evo2 for another car, you can get a pipe kit and just use the muffler for your car.

 

you should get a kteller 3" exhaust or if you don't care about power, get the 2.5" and a vibrant flat black muffler.

 

You should go with magnaflow Its better among all.. better reviews and better performance level.

Awesome thanks for the replies guys! The header I'm getting is 2.5" so I think Ill just get the magnaflow 2.5 in/out with 2.5" piping from kteller and then get a muffler (most probably Vibrant...)

Good picks i'd throw in a resonator while your at it. It'll quiet it down a bit

Vibrant muffler is stupid loud on its own. Adding an 18" MF resonator to my setup right now.

I think u can get up to a 24" resonator. LMK how it sounds. I want mine to sound quiet til u mash the gas pedal. Kind of like the RMF - ExMag
