californias 91 octane gas?

is it good for high compresion motors like 12.28?

If you have someone properly program your ecu, and dependent upon which cams you have, you can run 91 octane. The tuner that I deal with has a couple of customers that are running on 13:1 with 91 octane.

I'm sure if you were exteremely worried about detonation while running high comression you would retard the timing as well, correct? Im not saying its necessary, but would definately help prevent it.

No clue...it's all handled inside the ecu...when you're reprogramming the ecu the distributor timing doesn't matter as much.

Yea... that thread told me a whole lot of nuttin... other than one guy guessing that they're peeling the 91 sticker off... Hmmm....

Oh, and 76 doesn't use MTBE because they use methanol. 76 runs like crap in my car.

in some cars the MTBE free stuff gives better mileage though. I dind;t notice it in mine.. I usually use chevron

well if you are by redlands the texaco on the corner of Redlands BLVD and Tenesse sells VP racing fuel if you need that extra boost
