my 92 accord will not rev past 3k
Hello everyone i just replaced my timing belts on my 92 accord 2.2 and now my car will start but will only rev to 3k, what could i have done wrong or what could be the issue i really need help this is my only car and i need it to get to and from work PLEASE HELP
If you only replaced the timing and balancer belt, the mechanical timing must not be correct. Take off the valve cover and set the crank to tdc where the mark on the ignition timing hole in the front of the engine beneath the distributor will read 0 when looking down into the hole between the notches. Then look at the camshaft and see if the arrow is facing up and the side marks are lined up with the timing cover. If not, you will need to pull the belts and redo it.
It is possible for the balancer belt timing to be off and if so it will give you a really bad vibration since the front and rear balance shafts will be out of time. This can be confused with a rev limiter as the vibration can be really bad.

If the engine is rev limited, most likely something is not functioning correctly and the ECU is now in limp mode.
