What do you guys think of this strut bar for an EG or EK
This is the Carbing Type 2 Aluminum Tower Bar on an EK. It goes for $335. What do you guys think? Would a regular strut tower bar be just as good??? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

You guys might notice that its not even bolted down. Just there for the picture!

i am running the carbing type II bar on my ek and i love it. it's stiffer than spoon strutbar that i had before. it mounts up to the firewall for added rigidity.

How much does the Carbing bar weigh? Guesstimate would be cool, exact weight would be amazing. How much does the Spoon Sports bar weigh? Thanks again!!!
It's a nice bar and I would use one myself, except it is illegal in SCCA autox.

I wouldn't pay that much for it simply because I cannot use it.
FYI, I bought EKRevs Spoon bar from him and am very happy with it. It is actually really light.
You really dont need to put too much thought into strut bars. Just buy one that you like.

yup...worth every penny. and about it's weight, i didn't get to weigh it. it's pretty light due to it being aluminum. i can give you an exact weight tomorrow.

Well I can tell you that the Spoon is going to be lighter for sure.
But do you really care about a couple of Ozs?
If you like and can afford it, get it. All high quality strut bars work the same.

why is it illegal in scca? the multi-mount points?
yes, strut bars cannot mount to more then two points.
It will only be a big deal if people complain or protest your car. But it is illegal.

HA...you ricers and your jdm bling-bling crap.
only kidding. i have one of these bars also. it is only illegal in certain scca classes. it's all about the fun runs anyways. get what you want, but the carbing bar will stiffen the chassis more than the spoon one (at an add'l weight though).
