Default F22 No Spark

Okay, so I just bought a 4th gen lude off my buddy who has had it sitting for quite some time. It doesn't start. Sounds like the fuel pump isn't engaging, but the motor is not getting spark either. My friend tested the main relay and it seems to be in functional condition.

So my questions are:
Would the motor get spark without fuel?
What kind of other problem could this be?
If I got a new harness with matching fuse box, do you think this would correct my issue?

SIDE NOTE: I'm pretty sure the dizzy, plugs, and wires were replaced..

check the groung, I'm serious. if you have replaced dizzy, plugs and wires (hape, the replacements were in workig condition) and checked fuses, the only thing that can prevent sparking is loss of ground.

when you turn the key to ON position (not START!), do you hear a light "bzzzzzz" sound which stops in seconds? If yes, your fuel pump is working.

Another thing you can do to check for fuel .. ,unscrew the fuel line going into the fuel rail, hold it on an old rag (fold the rag up make it tihck) have a friend turn the key to Start (without actually starting the car) and see if any gas comes out. if it does, the fuel pump is working .. if not, start checking fuses and work your way back.

I recently had a no spark issue with my H23A1. I found this tutorial which was extremely helpful and not very expensive at all for testing most of your ignition system.

http://easyautodiagnostics.com/honda..._systems_1.php

Through that I was able to restore spark to mine. Boils down to test the following:

1. Plugs for spark
2. Distributor for spark
3. Coil wire to Distributor for spark
4. Verify Igniter is receiving signal
5. Verify ECM is sending signal to Igniter

They also had fuel tests too but they weren't as in depth. If you test all of the ignition firing systems and it's not it, their next suggestions were to check fuel pressure and verify injectors are receiving signal and then if that failed, verify head gasket isn't blown. Note that my condition was a no start, and after fixing the firing issue I still had a no start but the article did work great for diagnosing the firing issues.

Couldn't agree more with Yohan.

You can look at the distrbutor with the cap off while cranking. It will only take one crank to know for sure if it is turning, just watch the rotor. If you are by yourself (I was) you can use a grease pen or white out to mark it so you can tell if it moved. I don't know why, but I'm always leary of cranking mine without it's components connected so I try to do so very sparingly.
