Looking for Suggestions for Alternatives to Edlebrock Performer X Intake Manifold
I would like to buy Edlebrock Performer X Intake Manifold for my G3 Integra LS that will eventually receive a B20 P8R swap. I'm having trouble finding one new or used.
Its a NA DD build. I'm looking for a midrange RPM powerband. I have Delta regrind cams that greatly increased my midrange and continue to make power past 6k. Those are going into the B20 too along with the Walbro 190 and RDX injectors sitting on my shelf. Already have a 12lb flywheel in. Thinking about getting an aftermarket throttle body as well.
I know the characteristics Im looking for in the new intake manifold, longer skinnier runners with a smaller plenum. I have already rulled out the ITR IM, its clones and the Victor X.
Does anyone know of (or have for sale) any comparible alternative to the Performer X?
(I would be willing to buy one for a GSR or B16 if the price is right, Im thinking I would have to redrill the holes.)
Im looking for suggestions here. this is not a true WTB post...

Skunk2 ultra street manifold would be another option for you and close to the same price.

I remember having a talk with the late Don Flores several years ago and he brought up this particular build(P8R w/B20).
P8R heads are sought after because they have a steep angle on the intake side. Don said something along the lines of it being extremely easy to get air into that cylinder head.
That being said - I would be careful as to which intake manifold you choose. You don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars(or more) on something that is going to defeat the strong points of your motor. In other words, don't buy an intake manifold that has a more flat air approach to the CC. I think you would honestly be better off spending your money elsewhere and keep the stock IM for now.
Just my .02

I thought the P8R was good BC the valves were much bigger than a P75 head. I was thinking cams + P8R + Aftermarket IM style described above would = big HP with a strong mid RPM powerband. No?
Also how hard would it be to make the S2 ultra street IM fit an ls/B20 Redrilling the flange is straight forward but the coolant passages wouldn't match right? Could I just block them with a plug?

this is a very nice build man, im doing the same but i already have a b20b 00' runing in my car and a p8r head in my bed, i bought a victor x manifold from here with a ericks racing 68mm tb and ill install it in my stock b20 and see what it does haha, good luck with ur quest!
You are correct in your thinking, but it's also possible to lose power when switching to an aftermarket IM. It's not promised your motor will respond well to it. Thats why I would look towards more guaranteed gains.

I have a P8R head I can sell, and yes the valves are biiger than average b20/ls motors. They use the same size valves that were in the b21 motors.
Im using the Blox V2 ported to 68mm with 68mm tb. I gasket matched the ports and cleaned up casting marks.
Im using old skool Crane 0016 cams, ti spr/ret, supertech guides with a 3 angle.
Also milled and using YCP ITR rep pistons at 11.2CR
pics of build on my profile
Heres my dyno. 166/142

^ wow thanks for the input.

Im a lil disappointed now bc I was hoping for similar numbers in my build. doenst look like Ill make it. I think Im just gonna go with a P75 intake mani, P8R head, delta regrinda cams and b20b bottom. dont really have the funds to build the head or bottom like you did.
what can you tell me about your torque curve? (I dont know how to read a dyno graph really, I just look at the max numbers.) this is my DD, not really looking for max hp. I just want throttle response. From what I can tell from your graph, it looks like you have oomph no matter where you are at on the tach.
