dont know to much about the CTR pistons but the spoon cams have just a little higher lift than the CTR ones..im getting a b18c soon and am going w/ spoon cams because not only are they higher lift cams but you dont have to change your valvetrain and they should pass emissions no prob..does anyone know of any other mild cams that will pass emissions and dont have to change your valvetrain??thanks

You want to go back to spoon?

I'll get back to once my friend finishes his car.

We have customer running B18C 11.1CR +B16A head with Spoon cams put out 189whp and if you run higher CR I will assume you can make up to close to 200whp.

I got spoon cams but they aren´t tuned yet. I don´t have adjustable cam gears.
I like them, of course they´re not the best cams in the world but i like mild cams.
I´m running only 11.5 CR, Wiseco 82.mm pistons. I´ll post results after dyno without and new cam gears on.

IF you want to run higher compression with the CTR piston, why bother with a mild cams like the Spoon one? Go with Toda B or C or JUN 3.

because some people don't want to drop the extra $$ for the valvetrain to be done.... with the recent hubbub on snapping timing belts that's another extra cost involved when going with big cams.... what about injectors too? The list continues....

That's true, but if you want to run Spoon cams, the JDM ITR piston with a thin headgasket should give you more than enough compression.

With the CTR piston on such a mild cams, one may run into some detenation problem if he don't have a good tuner.

The thing is according to most of the dynoplot , you can see Spoon cams has a very useful power ranges for street to track.

Here a dynoplot of the Spoon cams. You can see the power ranges. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=262022
