Default Head compatibility?

I've been searching and finding mixed results, will the valves and cam ect from a d15b7 head fit a d16y8 head? I dont care about vtec i dont need it. I have a warped b7 head and y8 head with a few bent valves. Thinking about doing a swaparoo so my car will run for the time being.

Thanks,

Given how cheap D series parts are, why not just find the correct cam?

I have both cams, I just want too know if my b7 valves, cam and gear will fit in the stripped y8 head. This has nothing too do with going fast or horsepower ect. I dont want too buy another head too make this car run if i can use what i have already.

You're the only one that mentioned horsepower. You have all the parts in front of you? Try it.

But what I'm wondering is how you think a non-VTEC head's internals would be compatible with a VTEC one in any way shape or form?

Yeah the camshaft is no where near comparable.

Looking at a spec sheet for Honda engine heads, the variance is in the valve installed height. That could just be the difference in head height specifications.

The only parts that might be swap-able is the valves itself. I would not use the B7 springs on the Y8 head. Unless you have a 95 B7 head the springs are weaker and will cause valve float in vtec on the Y8.

Pull a valve from the Y8 and the B7 and see if they are the same length, the valve stem diameters appear to be the same. You will be able to tell if they are the same with them sitting side by side. It's the only parts that might be swap-able and even that is questionable. Oh wait, looking at the valve port, there is a mm size difference, even the valves are not compatible.
