Default B20vtec detonation help

B20b block 84mm
Rs machine pistons
Std rods
arp and acl bearings and studs
B16 head with itr valvetrain
Itr inlet/tb
Prelude 340 injectors

Hello I have a high comp b20vtec which I am have detonation problems with
I have been to the tuner and with the dizzy in the middle he can't get it to stop it

when its idling if I give it stabs of gas it does a quick clank first and it also does it under load
I was using the golden eagle kit with the b16 gasket bored out to 84mm and my mapper said hes seen problems with them headgaskets so now I have just put it back together with a b20 headgasket and its still the same
I haven't got a clue anymore
Any help appreciated

What octane fuel are you using? What ecu program are you using, as in hondata s100/s200/s300, aem, chrome, etc...???? You need to set initial timing with the distributor, then that never changes from there. Then your tuner is hopefully competent enough to tune the timing in the ecu map. That's the area where you are probably having issues with.

spend $70 and get a can of race gas to spike your fuel to get more octane for now to give you more time to figure this out before you bearings get pounded senseless and your ring lands collapse

Shell vpower 99 Ron I believe
And hondata s300 management
Iv been to the tuner a few times now and he seems to think he can't do it and even at 7degrees ign it was still doing it
It all just means nothing to me and its so frustrating not being able to diagnose it myself

I was watching the datalog earlier and the ign started at -30 degrees and then stayed at -16 once it was warmed up I don't know if that's normal or not I'm new to this kinda stuff
Iv never had the dizzy timing done either because iv always had to move it forward to drive to the tuner to stop the det

what country are you in

if you have oil vapor getting into the chamber, either from the valve seals or past the rings, you'll have detonation

does your engine smoke

Email map to Derek@ddtechcams.com, i'll take a look at it.

7 degrees of timing is too little, it'll knock / ping with too little timing as well, 100 RON is like 91 oct here in the states.

this is pretty normal from the adjustments on cold start..
does your b16 head have oem b16 camshafts in it? i think that piston/rod/block/head combo generally produces static compression between 12-12.5:1 according to the zeal calculator

I the head opened up to 84mm? This is an area of concern that many people overlook.
