Gauge assembly issue? - 2003 Honda Civic
Yesterday while driving, my gauges (speedometer, odometer, gas, temperature, etc.) went out unexpectedly. Everything else in the car still worked fine as if nothing had happened. After about a minute, the gauges would come back to life. It did this a couple times.
Today, my morning drive in to work was fine. Nothing happened. On the way home, my gauges went out again. And, again, they came back after about a minute or so. Whenever the gauges were out, I noticed that the battery, airbag, and fuel light would remain lit. Blinker indicators would still work. After some more driving around, I noticed that the gauges stayed up, but the battery and airbag lights would come on if I went over 20-25 mph. Again, everything else about how the car drives felt fine.
Any ideas as to what could be going on? Fuse? Dirty or faulty gauge assembly?
Now, I've scheduled an appointment with my mechanic tomorrow to run a diagnostic, but the worry is getting to me. I still have to drive my car to and from work tomorrow morning. I guess I'm just looking for some peace of mind here and some assorted opinions as to what the problem may be.

See if the self-diagnostic will show anything: https://honda-tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2908290
You'll probably have to do it a couple of times to get it right, hardly anybody gets it right the first time.

Update: So my roommate needed a jump yesterday and I obliged. After jumping her car, my car now seems fine. Everything is back to normal. Maybe it was a battery issue? We'll see if it acts up again after work, but the drive in was normal. If it does act up again, maybe I'll give the self-diagnostic a shot.
Came out after work to a dead car. Tried to jump it, but all I got was a woodpecker noise and a failure to turn over. Display lights and everything came on when I tried to jump it. Ended up towing it to a mechanic a mile away from my workplace. They're looking at it now. I'm pretty sure it's the alternator. At least my battery is under warranty and will be covered.
