Front AC works well, Rear AC doesn't work on Honda Odyssey 2000 EX
Dear All,
I bought a used car Honda Odyssey 2000 EX month ago. At that time the AC doesn't work. The autoshop did diagnosis and told me to replace compressor with $1400. I don't want to spend such a lot money, and then I replaced the compressor(cost me 270 bucks), did the evaluation and recharge the freon, all these things by myself. Finally, the front AC works pretty well and blows ice cold air. but the rear AC doesn't work. Does any one know what is the possible problem. By the way, I didn't replace the rear evaporate valve.
Thanks,
F.

it could be a weird relay/resistor problem. I remember my 03 honda pilot had the same issue. it controls the rear part of the ac system.
True. I don't know if the Odyssey is like the Pilot, but if so, that might be the issue:

odysseys have essentially two systems, one front one rear, the rear may be having some sort of issue with a clogged line or evaporator.
