So I have been looking for a reliable all season car and saw a few pictures of the crv with some cool "off road" mods. I won't be doing much or any off roading and was curious if bigger tires is even a good idea without any performance mods. I see people doing vtec conversions and I rather not go that far. I understand it depends on how much rotating mass I add just wondering if any of you stock crv guys have ran bigger tires maybe 30" ? What's your .02?

I have the ome lift springs on the wife's crv and was able to fit 225/75/15's under the wheel wells with no rubbing / shimming needed. Drove them for about a month and then sold them.
Braking and acceleration were very noticeably worse (2 things the crv is already lacking in) and my MPG went down. Threw on some 215/70/15 and left it at that.

 

I'm running 235/75/15's on my 03. No lift and no rubbing issues whatsoever. Ride is stiffer and MPG's went down. Acceleration and braking are worse but still worth it.

 

Oh, my tires come out around 28.8 inches and on stock rims. This is the biggest tire (without mods) that will fit a 2nd gen V.

 

i have the coloradomountainrally lift spacers on my crv with 215 75 15 tires. i also use mine as my daily, the lift was meant for a little more ground clearance for winter here in the Midwest. i have a 2000 with an automatic trans and average between 19-21 city mpg.
