It might sound like a stupid question but I've recently been offered a 1995 Lexus SC400 with 100k miles on rebuilt engine for my 1996 Acura Integra LS. I know absolutely nothing about the SC400 except that its a 4.0 V8 and rwd and ive always liked them but i love my integra. Just wondering what opinions you all have about it.

That aside, you're being offered a luxury equipped V8 Supra as a trade for (what is essentially) an engine swapped Civic. Either there's something horribly wrong with the Lexus you're failing to mention, or this post is just trolling.

 

The something horribly wrong is it gets 19mpg and takes premium. Not trolling. Cars super clean going to meet him today.

 

If you want a luxury coupe and don't mind paying for the fuel and everything checks out then go for it. The only thing that concerns me is why it was rebuilt, but with 100K on the rebuild I'd guess it'd be ok. You really have to try to kill a 1UZ.

 

I'd probably make the trade then sell it, due to the fact that it's worth more haha. Is the Lexus manual transmission? If so they're uncommon.

 

Rebuilt because of a spun bearing. I'm waiting to meet the guy but our schedules conflict so much. And no its an automatic but I'll save up for the swap while i have it.

 

Only some 3,800 SC300 came with a manual. As far as worth goes it really depends, I see them all the time for under $3,000 and even in the low 2's.

 

This ones pretty clean all stock except the new engine and its sitting on Enkeis

 

I would say do it and work hard to grab a Honda side project. Seems like too good to pass on. But like they say, to good to be true, may also play a role. Its all on your wants and needs come the end of the day. All up to you man.

 

I've owned both cars. Take the Lexus if it checks out mechanically.. It's fun to be able to drive all your friends around. The Lexus is a lot classier. And girls will like the Lexus a lot more.the Lexus is a lot faster too.

 

1uz get 24-26 mug depending on foot. They do Better Than My 2jz. I would be all over that deal.
