My brake lights are stuck on since I added some brake fluid. i'm not sure if that was related or not but this mechanic told me all i need to do is put a washer on the brake switch and it will fix it.

I've been messing with it all day and I got it to work for a second then it went back to being on without my foot on the brake pedal.

1.) If I buy a new brake switch will it fix this?

2.) How do I do the washer trick exactly where do I put it?

 

The brake pedal stopper pad probably broke off.
