Sup guys I've tried posting an getting no results. I have a 97 JDM b18c R motor in a LS and i cant for the life of me figure out this noise.
I checked the timing belt an tensioner and water pump by hand spinning them. I took off the valve cover an pushed on the LMA they seemed ok none got stuck but some are easier to push down then others.
I check the dizzy the injectors...
IM LOST GUYS. Help me out.

100 views an nobody has heard that F$&KING RATTLING SOUND BEFORE LOL.

 

The video is unavailable. Bad bearings can make sounds at high speeds that you cant hear when hand spinning. Upload another vid.

The tensinor bearing was brand new along with the water pump. I got it all apart an was like what the..... Guy never told me everything was new...

 

is the valve lash set to spec?

 

Yea i did it twice. Cold motor an did everything by the book.

 

The sound in video is a little hard to hear but it's a metal scratching sound kinda like a metal rattling sound.
It's driving me nuts. I cant pinpoint it!

 

Remove the ps belt and see if noise goes away. Maybe ac bearing if you have one or even alt bearing.

 

I took all the belts off an strarted it up. Noise was still there.

 

How do you know the tensioner is brand new ? I would swap out the water pump and tensioners.

 

The tensioner and water pump have not a single spec of dust or dirt like the parts around them. They still look shinny lol.
