Default Noises- Clutch/Suspension

Hi everyone.

I own a 92 Del ESI (D16z6).

When my car is in neutral I can listen to a sound that I think it maybe the clutch bearing- when I press the clutch that sound is gone.

The other issue is that when I'm driving at very low speeds with my window open I'm listening a shrill noise that seems to be from suspension.

Have anyone experienced those?

Any help?

The car has just covered 97000Km over 22 years.

Regards!

Bruno (Portugal)

Most likely it's your input shaft bearing.

How do you figure the other noise is coming from the suspension?

The transmission noise is most likely your input shaft bearing, as eH said. Noise with clutch pedal depressed = throwout bearing, noise with clutch pedal released = input shaft bearing. Replacing it basically requires a full transmission overhaul.

The shrill noise could be your brakes, or your wheel hub bearing. Does the noise go away when you put your foot on the brakes? Does it get louder or higher pitched the faster you're going? Put your car on jack stands, grab the front driver side wheel at 12 and 6. Try to wiggle it. Grab at 9 and 3. Try to wiggle it again. Does it move in either of those directions? Repeat for the other three wheels. Inspect your brake pads and discs. Are they worn? How much "meat" is left on the brake pads? Are they all wearing evenly?

Thanks to all!

What do you think I should do about the clutch? My idea is leaving it as it is till it worse.
I'll have to take care and see if that the bearing! They've never been changed but haven't covered many km too...Less than 100000Km.

The noise isn't coming from your clutch, it's coming from your transmission.
